Dr. Annie Hill.
Annie Hill (she/her) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Rhetoric and Writing and a faculty affiliate in the LGBTQ Studies program, the Department of African and African Diaspora Studies, and the Department of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at the University of Texas, Austin. Her research projects analyze political discourse, state power, and sexual violence in the United States and United Kingdom. Her work has appeared in diverse disciplinary journals such as Communication and Critical/Cultural Studies, Rhetoric & Public Affairs, First Amendment Studies, and philoSOPHIA: A Journal of Continental Feminism, as well as edited volumes and public media. In 2024, her first book, titled Trafficking Rhetoric: Race, Migration, and the Making of Modern-Day Slavery, will be published by The Ohio State University Press.
