For over ten years, Brent Lucia has taught writing, literature and communication courses in higher education. Currently, he’s an Assistant Professor In-residence at the University of Connecticut, teaching writing and communication courses at UConn’s School of Business. Brent’s scholarship focuses on communication, composition and rhetorical theory and has recently been featured in New Media & Society, Rhetoric Review, and Business and Professional Communication Quarterly. His recent research includes the rhetorical circulation of Big Tech imaginaries, XR marketing and its relation to user experience, and ethical considerations surrounding ChatGPT. Brent was once a member of IRW’s planning committee in 2018 and was IRW’s Chair from 2020-2022.
